  • Bahawalpur / Thonsa, Punjab – approx. 45 families
  • Battagram, KPK – approx. 40 families

As a result of our Project 2 which relates to supporting the DG Khan Madrassa, its affiliated branches, and sponsoring its students, we have seen the following achievements of the Institute over the last year:

  • Total students: 828
  • 298 students completed Nazra (176 female)
  • 133 students completed memorisation of the Quran (62 female)
  • 78 Hafiz students completed Quran revision (38 female Hafiza)
  • 39 female students completed Aalimah course
  • 56 female students completed sewing & embroidery course
  • 63 students passed primary education (36 female)
  • 64 students passed secondary education (42 female)
  • 97 elderly women attended Understanding of Deen Course

Note: Each student is from a poor family, many are orphans, some are sight-impaired, some mobility impaired, some sisters are widows. Many of their houses were swept away by catastrophic flash floods.

This year we are continuing Project 2 to offer more support.

The institute still has outstanding debt due to repair works after the 22/23 floods, in addition to its regular expenditure.

As a result of our Project 3 which relates to supporting the Jamia Madniya Madrassa of Karachi, we have seen the following achievements of the Madrassah over the last year:

  • Total number of graduates for the previous academic year: 159
  • Total current students on the school roll: 1050 (receiving secular and Islamic education)
  • Total number of teachers: 58
  • 41 students completed Nazra (22 female)
  • 24 students completed memorization of Quran (15 female)
  • 18 female students graduated from Tajweed course
  • 27 female students completed 2-year Darasat Deenyah
  • 16 female students graduated as qualified teachers
  • 13 female students completed Arabic language course
  • 19 male & 4 female students took matriculation exam in modern sciences

Note: All teachers and students are from poor backgrounds and some are orphans.

This year we are continuing Project 3 to offer more support.

As a result of our Project 1 which relates to supporting poor families, we supported the following deserving brothers and sisters:

Total: 170 families
– Karachi, Sindh – approx. 30 families
– Interior Sindh – approx. 20 individuals/families who had lost their houses due to the floods
– Quetta, Balochistan – approx. 35 families affected by floods in mountainous areas and to whom no prior aid had reached from an NGO or charity.
– Bahawalpur/ Thonsa, Punjab – approx. 45 families
– Battagram, KPK – approx. 40 families

The following forms of aid and assistance were provided over the course of the year to the various needy recipients:

– Food packs
– Cash
– Clothes
– Orphans financially supported to enable their marriages
– Medical treatments and medical costs
– Small business setup
– Small house repairs
– Well and water infrastructure built
– Construction of a number of Masjids, and repairs of Masjids in poor areas
– Financial support to poor families struggling to pay off small house loans
– Rickshaw repair
– Flood victims assisted
– Financial contributions to support small Islamic institutes providing Quran & Hifz classes for poor students
– Poor family assisted in starting a small icecream business.

This year we are continuing Project 1 to offer more support.

– 133 students completed memorisation of the Quran, 62 of whom were female
– 78 Hafiz students completed the revision of the Quran; 38 female Hafiza students
– 39 female students completed the Aalimah course
– 56 female students completed the sewing and embroidery course
– 63 students passed primary education, 36 of whom were female
– 64 students passed secondary education, 42 of whom were female
– 97 elderly women attending the Understanding of Deen Course.

Support for Vulnerable Families

With your kind support, WAFA have delivered aid and assistance in the form of various projects in the last year. As a result of Project 1, which focuses on supporting vulnerable families across the UK, we have been able to support the following:

  • London: Approx. 40 families in need of financial support

  • Birmingham: Approx. 30 families struggling with housing and basic needs

  • Manchester: Approx. 25 families facing unemployment and homelessness

  • Liverpool: Approx. 15 families in need of emergency food and medical aid

  • Glasgow: Approx. 10 families impacted by financial hardship due to COVID-19

The following forms of aid and assistance were provided:

  • Food packages

  • Cash assistance for rent and bills

  • Clothing and shoes for children and adults

  • Financial support to cover medical costs

  • Help with utility bills and emergency needs

  • Job training and career support for adults

  • Assistance to families with elderly members or young children

UK Education Sponsorship and Support

With your continued support, WAFA Project 2 has focused on providing educational support to students in need across the UK. This initiative has helped students from disadvantaged backgrounds achieve their academic goals. Below are the achievements for the year:

Total Students Supported: 350

  • London: 150 students sponsored for school supplies and tuition

  • Birmingham: 70 students provided with after-school tutoring

  • Manchester: 50 students assisted with educational workshops and career guidance

  • Leeds: 40 students sponsored for extracurricular activities

  • Sheffield: 40 students provided with financial assistance for university applications

The following forms of support were provided:

  • School supplies (books, uniforms, stationery)

  • Tuition fees and college application costs

  • Career mentorship and guidance

  • After-school tutoring in subjects like Maths and English

  • Scholarships for higher education

  • Educational workshops for students in need

  • Support for students with learning disabilities

This year, we are continuing Project 2 to support more students across the UK.
Your donations help make education accessible to those in need.

  • £100 can cover the school supplies and fees for a student for one term.

  • £50 can provide a student with after-school tutoring sessions for a month.

Women support group

UK Community Development and Support

WAFA Project 3 has focused on community development and supporting those in need within the UK. With your help, we have been able to make a significant impact on the lives of many individuals and families.

Total Beneficiaries: 500

  • London: Community centers established to support mental health and well-being

  • Birmingham: 200 individuals assisted with finding housing and job placements

  • Manchester: Support for the homeless through food and shelter provision

  • Glasgow: Assistance provided for elderly and disabled individuals with mobility aids

  • Liverpool: Financial support to local Islamic centers for community services

The following forms of aid were provided:

  • Food and shelter for the homeless

  • Job placement assistance and interview coaching

  • Mental health services and support groups

  • Community development initiatives and training

  • Mobility aids and equipment for disabled individuals

  • Financial support for local charities and Islamic centers

  • Emergency housing and legal aid

This year, we are continuing Project 3 to provide even more support to communities across the UK.

Recommended option: Every penny of Gift Aid will be spent upon the needy in addition to your original donation amount.

This will grant you a maximum share in the change you make to the lives of approximately 2000 individuals/families.

Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that allows charities to claim back 25% of the value of a donation. That’s 25p for every £1 you give!
